The Queensland Film Industry

The state of Queensland provides a thriving environment for the film and television industry, attracting numerous interstate and international productions.

Queensland boasts the largest studio facility in the southern hemisphere. These studios are just 45 minutes drive from Brisbane. This purpose built 210 acre studio complex includes eight air-conditioned sound stages, furnished production offices, film lab, set construction, special effects and wardrobe facilities.

Along with these studio facilities Queensland also boasts a large variety of superb locations all within a couple of hour’s drive of the capital city, Brisbane. The Queensland government also offers a range of incentives for overseas production companies to shoot in Queensland and use Queensland-based crew. These factors have seen Queensland become a favourite destination for international film shoots ranging from features to television series.
