Professional Development

Film and Television Industry -
Course starts in March 2012. Application due on 24th February 2012

Pre-production Subjects:

Scriptwriting, Production Management & Business Essentials for the Creative Industry
Without pre-production, a shoot can easily collapse from a motivated and passionate crew to a chaotic class of finger painting kindergarteners. We focuses on organisation of crew, resources, developing creative yet structured scripts, and basic business theory. We find that one, or all, of these essential skills provides the abilities to produce a project in the most flawless possible way.

Production:

Camera Operations, Production Co-ordination, Art Directing, Sound
We strive to keep instruction as hands on and practical as possible. All the basics such as; focus pulling, rule-of-thirds, exposure, and framing are all covered. Specialist roles like the camera assistant, assistant director, sound recordist and art directors are also investigated in detail.

Post-production Subjects:

IT for Production, Editing, Sound
We have a multitude of industry software available, all run on Imacs. Subjects in this area focus on editing theory and techniques, sound mixing and file organisation. We also instruct in aspect ratios, codecs, editing philosophies and more.

Specialist Areas *:

Directing, Film Production, Advanced Post-production, Television Commercial Production and Cinematography
Some of our subjects focus on more advanced and specialised areas. Green screen, animation, advanced camera techniques, the role of the Director and creating commercials for clients/agencies are some of the areas covered.

*Entry into a specialist area requires prerequisite subjects or relevant work experience.
