Queensland school of film and television (qsft) is a nationally registered training organisation offering fully accredited courses in all technical disciplines of filmmaking. We specialise in the behind-the-scenes aspects of film and television and have established links with the local industry.

Qsft currently caters for a broad range of people interested in the film and television industry, ranging from recent school leavers to adults wanting to either improve their skills or change professions entirely.

The advantage qsft has over other similar schools and tertiary institutions is the high level of quality hands-on experience we offer. Our students are required to roll up their sleeves and experience the practical reality of filmmaking at the same time exploring the finer creative points of this exciting and challenging medium.

As a small boutique facility, we pride ourselves on our professionalism and the personal attention we devote to all students. All qsft lecturers currently work in the industry and are ideally situated to provide our students with up-to-date training and help develop the relationship networks that are crucial to launching a career in the industry.

Industry Based Training

All subjects in our courses are directly relevant to the film and television industry. To ensure that students are aware of industry practices, field trips to professional production facilities are incorporated into the training program. Second year Diploma students undertake their major team project using 35mm motion picture film. Qsft is one of the few film schools in Australia that uses professional motion picture equipment.
