Video Production Workshops

Aimed at beginners, and run over two weekends, Qsft's Video Production Workshops introduce participants to the wonderful world of film and television.

You’ll get to learn the latest techniques in lighting, shooting and editing from an experienced Director. You’ll also have the opportunity to produce a short film from a script developed by you and your fellow workshop participants.

Our school holiday workshops introduce new school-aged filmmakers to the basic principles and practices involved in lighting, shooting, sound recording and editing video projects.

WORKSHOP 01 :

The Basics for Beginners

This workshop aims to introduce new filmmakers to the basic principles and practices involved in lighting, shooting, and editing video projects

The course covers the principles of digital recording, the types of video cameras available, camera operation, sound recording, and basic lighting techniques.

Topics Include:

• Introduction to camera – operation & maintenance
• Introduction to editing
• Sound recording
• Lighting for Film and Television
• Sound mixing
• Advanced editing techniques (including blue screen)
• Script and Storyboard
• Directing

WORKSHOP 02 :

Advanced Beginners

This course is for people who have completed Workshop 1 or who already have a basic knowledge of digi production skills.

This workshop is designed to give participants a two day production experience. The production will be based on the script from Workshop 1.

Topics Include:

• Pre-production
• Production shoot
• Editing of production
• Post-production
• ADRI & Foley
• Directing
